4 Scriptural Reasons Why Jesus CANNOT Return At Any Second

1. The Gospel Must Be Preached to All Nations (Mt. 24:14; Mk. 13:10)
Jesus said to His disciples that before the end would come, the gospel would be preached to all nations. Missionary organizations have determined that this could be accomplished somewhere around 2020 or so. But this is one of the requirements that must be fulfilled before the return of Jesus to the earth.
2. The “falling away” has not yet happened. (2 Thes. 2:3; Mt. 24:9-13; 2 Pet. 3:17; Heb 6:4-6: Luke 8:11-15)
Paul says in 2 Thes. 2:11-12 that people are condemned because one, they do not love the truth; and two, they take pleasure in unrighteousness. Paul also tells Timothy that there will be those who depart from the faith because they “gave heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Tim. 4:3).
The believers that do NOT fall away is described in Rev. 12:11 in that they will overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, adn the fact that they did not love their lives to the death.
3. The “Abomination of Desolation” has not happened yet. (Mt. 24:15-31; Mk. 13:14-27; 2 Thes. 2:3; Rev 13:12-18; Dan 11:31-32)
The final 3 and a half years of the tribulation is marked by an event called the “Abomination of Desolation.” This occurs when the Antichrist stands in the Jerusalem temple and declares himself to be God by setting up an idol in the temple and then seeking to force all who are on earth to worship him. The Antichrist’s statue or image will be the greatest abomination to God in history, because the Antichrist will demand to be worshiped as God and many will fully respond to this demand.
4. The “last trumpet” must be preceded by 6 other trumpets (1 Cor. 15:52; 1 Thes. 4:16-18; Rev. 8-9; Rev 11:15-19)
In the “Revelation of Jesus Christ” (the book of Revelation) it is revealed to us that there are 7 trumpets that will sound that will release judgments on the earth (The 7 Trumpets are the 3rd of 5 Chronological Sections in chapters 6-22 of Revelation). The last trumpet in Rev. 11:15-19 speaks about the kingdoms of the world becoming the kingdoms of God (Jesus). Most other places in scripture (1 Cor. 15:52; 1 Thes. 4:16-18… Matthew 24; Mark 13) talk about the last trumpet or the trumpet of God being sounded just before Jesus returns to earth.
The event that happen in the first 6 trumpets are so catastrophic and so immense and will take time as they happen in succession. Also, the 5th trumpet takes place over at least 5 months (Rev. 9:5).
These judgments take place to rid the earth of the evil regime of the Antichrist, but also to awaken people who still haven’t made a decision for Christ to turn to Him and not against Him. You definitely want to be on the side of the one who is releasing the Seals, Trumpets and Bowl Judgments.
