22 Weeks

Looks like God is really highlighting this issue with me right now. Angel Manuel Soto Vazquez, a friend here at IHOP in KC has just finished a film that will be released at TheCall in Washington DC. I’ve seen the trailer and can’t wait to see the film.

A young woman is locked in the bathroom of an abortion clinic after her baby was born alive.

This is a film about decisions, their effects and the echos they leave behind. Based on the shocking true story of “Baby Rowan”, on victim’s testimonies, and real 911 calls about one of the most controversial subjects of our time, “22weeks” achieves to confront both sides of the spectrum and their perspective to the ongoing question: “what would you do?”

You can visit the movie’s website here: 22weeksthemovie.com.

ATC: Leadership Track

Filed under: Blogging, Christianity, IHOP, Prayer, Youth

YouthPrayer Just another personal update here about this 3rd Leadership Track of ATC (Awakening Teen Camp). I am blown away by these teenagers. My heart is so moved seeing young people leading prayer meetings, and wanting to be trained to lead prayer meetings in their high schools and middle schools. I mean these are 13-17 year olds leading a room of adults in prayer… and it’s REALLY enjoyable.

How to Provoke Prayer

Filed under: Christianity, IHOP, Prayer, Youth

Teen PrayerIn a country where 1 out of 10 high schools has a club for gay and gay-friendly kids and where sexual laxity in our society among teenagers has become a social norm, there are forerunners who are standing up for purity, wholeheartedness, and fighting to maintain a life in God.

Zealous Teenagers In YOUR City
In the high schools in YOUR city there are teenagers who are in love with Jesus and want to see revival break out in their schools. They want to see kids saved and set free from addictions and are willing to pay the price to see that happen. These ones who have a seemingly unlimited amount of zeal and strength and a hunger for more like you’ve never seen are in YOUR church and cleaning out YOUR refrigerator.

Independence Day 2008

Filed under: Blogging, End Times, Prayer

4th of JulyTo most people Independence Day is associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, baseball games, and other various events that celebrate the history of the United States. It’s a day for celebration because of the freedom that we as Americans have living in the “land of the free.”

However to some, Independence Day is just another day, another 24 hours they are held captive and forced into doing things they don’t want to do.

The Difficulty of Prayer

Eyes Now you may look at this title and think to yourself, “prayer isn’t hard” or “if you think prayer is hard try this…” or you may agree with me. But my goal here isn’t to convince you that prayer is hard, but to share some of my own experiences, struggles and successes with prayer and hopefully some of them may seem somewhat familiar and helpful.

Prayer isn’t hard, unless you actually attempt it.
Not just say you do it. Not just sit down for 5 minutes and think about praying. Also, not just sit in a prayer room for 1-2 hours checking your email, reading a book or reading your Bible. When you actually open up your mouth and start to speak and words start to come out that are directed toward God, then it becomes hard.

Elections are Now!

Filed under: Blogging, Christianity, Politics, Prayer

Many have written Huckabee off as unelectable. Some even in the Christian world are endorsing a pro-choice, pro-alternative marriage candidate. However we are in a crisis beyond what many of us see, and we need a pro-life, pro-family, God fearing president in office and one has finally emerged. If you were at TheCall in July, you know that people prayed in this candidate. I urge you to skip a meal a day, 2 meals a day, and cry out in prayer for a change in the nation. I have taken a vow and I hope you have or will consider as well that “I will not vote for anyone who is not pro-life.”

This is a critical moment. We must fast and pray, not only for the elections but for revival and an ending to the slaughter of the unborn in our nation. If you are in one of the cities that are holding the PreCall Events, show up and join in prayer with those in your city. Corporate gatherings of fasting, prayer and repentance is God’s only remedy to change a nation, turn hearts back to Him, and to divert coming judgment. We must pray.

My intentions here are to put together information in which you can examine for yourself and make an informed decision. Whatever the case if you are are not registered, now is the time. The elections are not in November, they are now.

There is no time to waste. Those of you in Florida January 29th is your day (and Feb 5th for many of the rest of us) to make it count. Make sure you plan for it and don’t forget.

The Mystery of God

Filed under: Christianity, Knowledge of God, Practicals of Life, Prayer

Making our lives work right is a pain sometimes. Circumstances seem to get in the way and throw us off track. We make plans and life seems to come in like a tornado and we end up on a course we didn’t plan for. We never do plan for tornados or for unforeseen circumstances, that is why they are called “unforeseen”. We cannot control when things happen to us, but we can control how we respond; and in this lies the answer.

John 17:3 - ‘And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.’

In this passage Jesus is speaking to God the Father and we are hearing this because of God the Holy Spirit. So we are listening in on the holy dialog between God and God by the power of God. If we look at this chapter of John 17:1-26 it is broken up into 3 sections.

Living Now is to our Advantage!

Filed under: Blogging, Christianity, Intimacy, Knowledge of God, Power on the Gospel, Prayer

The generation we are living in right now is more important and more significant than we know. Many have said that it would be so much better if we could have lived in the time when Jesus was on the earth; oh to be a disciple and to walk in his footsteps and see the miracles He did and to get to talk to Him face to face. And while those things seem desirable, Jesus disagrees.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” John 16:7

It is “TO YOUR ADVANTAGE”, to my advantage, to our advantage that He no longer be here on the earth with us. How is this possible? Wouldn’t be so much easier to witness to people about the man who is fully God and fully man, who’s name is Jesus of Nazareth if He was here on the earth and we could introduce Him? Wouldn’t it be so much easier for people to believe that He was God if people could see Him?

2010 - 3 Years Away

Filed under: Blogging, End Times, Prayer

The U.S. Department of State estimates that by 2010, human trafficking will be the No. 1 crime worldwide:

  • An estimated 27 million people are held in slavery worldwide, meaning there are more slaves in the world than were taken from Africa during 300 years of the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
  • Annually between 700,000 and 4 million people are bought and sold as prostitutes, sex slaves, domestic workers, child laborers and child soldiers. This includes children as young as 4.

If you are breathing, you should be praying. We must take this on as our own. This is not something we can ignore. Please pray and encourage others to keep barraging heaven until human trafficking is gone. Another sign of the times.
