I won’t make this a long entry. Only because every time I begin to write something for this blog I get this feeling of “take a deep breath, this is going to take a while.” And I do not like spending hours on one post, which has sometimes happened, and basically that is why there was such a huge gap for a while between posts. I just decided if blogging is going to take me that long for each post, I don’t have time for that in my schedule. Especially as my schedule was a little crazy for a while. It is still intense now, but manageable.
So anyways, getting back to the drive. I finished the set I lead at 8pm and walk out of the prayer room doors and it smells like rain. I still have a few things to take care of so I start driving around getting those things done and it starts pouring rain. At this point I start to think to myself “oh, great… what a great way to start a trip” (thinking that rain was the worst it could get).

So David is in a play. We will be heading there in about 30 minutes. I’ll post later with an update on the play and the part David had in it.
Update: So the play was incredible, ranging from 5 year olds to 17 year olds. Most of the main actors/actresses were older. It had many, including myself, smiling, laughing and brought to tears with this moving story.

So we were at the Daniel Academy today. We were being interviewed by the Principle of the school, which seemed a little intimidating at first, but turned out to be very social and laid back. It was very enjoyable.
The Daniel Academy is basically a school run by IHOPers for grades K-12. Here is their description:

Every time there is a gap between posts that spans the length of consistency, I feel this clanging need in the thoughts of my writing to express regret for this noticeable gap. I do not know if it is self imposed, or if the toll on my musings comes from the collective mass of repentance streaming from the blogging community who inevitably loses consistency.
I’m happy and a proud daddy to share with you all that Noah is now officially walking. He walks across the room and even dances. As a father I am so overwhelmed with joy over my son. Just seeing the huge smile that seems to be always on His face moves my heart. It’s nothing he has done for me. Just seeing him enjoy taking those steps, and finding those moments of pure delight brings such pleasure to me. The more I experience moments of living fatherhood, the greater the measure the Father’s heart is revealed to me.

So, we’re walking up to the JPR (Justice Prayer Room) and there are these bricks sticking out of the walls and David goes and starts climbing them, I turn to see him doing this and tell Him to climb higher (for the picture), take the picture and then tell him to get down and that he’s never allowed to do that again.

So, we’re in Kansas City now. Wow. I can’t believe it is already here. You may have asked yourself… “Why on earth did Adam & Stephanie move to Kansas?” Many people have asked us that same question, to which I always reply “It’s Missouri!, not Kansas; Kansas City, Missouri… get it right people!”
But seriously, God has really been preparing us for this season of change for the last 8 years. Stephanie and I were married in May of 1999, and we were launched into ministry as worship leaders in August of 1999. After leading worship for a youth group for a few months and at various churches around the area, we then joined in ministry as worship leaders of a new church plant in January of 2000. In 2002 God was strategically positioning us to line up with His long-term call on our lives by moving us into youth ministry.

Today started day 1 of 5 days of Alien Children. Yes Stephanie and I have jumped into a conference and are leading worship and teaching for kids ages 6-12. Kids are crazy and today I found that to be extremely wonderful. They are so willing to just have a great time. We were singing a song and it got to a part that was really pumping and I just started jumping because the song was really exciting (also to see if the kids would jump too), and just about every kid in the place started jumping. Then every time we got to that part of the song again that was the “jumping part” of the song. Then seeing kids close their eyes and sing their heart out to Jesus was just amazing.
Another cool thing that has started happening recently that happened again last night was that before the children got there David was with us, so we were going to start praying. David wanted to be the prayer leader so he started praying for the service and the children, and we started singing prayers after he would finish. It got to the point where after he would pray he would point to Stephanie to sing, then point to me to sing, then point again to Stephanie and so on. It was so cute, I was so proud. He went from praying for this day, 3,000 bats, abortion, healing, the children, to finally praying that the children would be silly. It was a fun night.

As you can tell by the lack of posts lately, we have been somewhat busy the past few week. Some things have transpired that have taken up a huge chunk of our time, leaving us with not much to spare. So this post is to bring you (my readers) up to date with the happenings of the Parker family.
We have found a house! We left for KC in pursuit of finding a home this past weekend. We have scoured Kansas City and found a home, and we made an offer. We heard back on the Tuesday that our offer was accepted and we close on our house in KC July 31st. It’s hard enough to find a house in a short amount of a time, but for Stephanie and I to agree 100% on the house that we both love was amazing.
God knew the house we would be living in and had it already picked out before we ever moved to KC. We just had to go find it.
