What’s the deal with the Drudge Report?
I’ve been hearing more and more people, big media types, always referring to “The Drudge Report” as a news source. Saying that “…today I read on the Drudge Report”, and that its a site that are daily reads for people. I just don’t get it. I know its a news report dump site, so media types would be drawn to it, but what does it offer that others of the same niche do not? I read news and all, and maybe its just me, but reading that site is torture.
I can’t get past the lack of usability and design and use of white space (or lack thereof). It pains me to even look for something interesting to read on the site. In my opinion, you could just as well write a document in notepad or textedit and slap it up on a web page and have people download it.
Do you read this website? Why or why not?

No, I’m not a reader. Also, the link doesn’t contain ‘the.’
It’s kinda like google news from what I can tell, but just headlines.

Glenn Beck was constantly mentioning Drudge so I had to check it out like a year ago. I thought if Glenn read it, it must be THE thing. Well the site is awful, not user friendly or inviting at all. I don’t get it either.

p.s. – I saw Brent Steeno on there in the GPR the other day and thought maybe I should give it another try but your blog has convinced me I was right and it is a big waste of my time.
