Jesus’ One World Government
Filed under: Christianity, End Times, Jesus, Knowledge of God
What I’m going to attempt to do in this article is to provide the framework for the real establishment of a real government whose leader is God Himself in human form. This will take place at a future point in time and will be a progressive time of preparation for the earth as a whole.
This framework will take on these 2 assumptions:
- Jesus is coming again to the earth at some point in the future (2nd Coming)
- There will be a literal 1,000 year period of time starting soon after Jesus returns to the earth (2nd Coming).
For the past 2 months I’ve been studying Psalm 50 (a Psalm of Asaph). We’ve been looking at it in a small group I lead as well as singing through the passages each week. I’ve developed an insatiable desire to see Jesus break into this world set the wrong things right and setup a righteous government all the while believers getting to be with Jesus and work along side of Him.
Jesus Will Shine Forth From Jerusalem (The City of David)
So in light of that, I will start this article based in Psalm 50.
Psalm 50:2 says “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.”
This is the ultimate reality; to see Jesus shining forth as King over all from Zion (which throughout scripture is referred to “the city of David” - which is Jerusalem), declaring the law of the Lord and setting up righteous government.
Jerusalem Will Be The Center of Government
Jeremiah 3:17 says “Jerusalem shall be called the Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem.”
And in Daniel 7:13,14,27, it says “One like the Son of Man (Jesus)… came to the Ancient of Days (the Father)… 14 To Him (Jesus) was given… a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him… 27 His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve Him.”
Psalm 132:13,14 says “For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: 14 This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.”
So far I gather from this Jesus is given kingdom/government that all peoples, nations and languages will be subject to His rule. And once this kingdom is setup it will last forever. This kingdom’s main headquarters will be setup and based in Jerusalem.
New Jerusalem Not in Heaven
Let’s add a few more dimensions to this:
Revelation 3:12 says “The New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God.”
Revelation 21:3-4 says “Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 4 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.”
Matthew 25:31 says “When the Son of Man comes… then He will sit on the throne of His glory.”
So according to Revelation 3:12 the New Jerusalem will actually “come down” out of heaven. So if that is true that also means that the New Jerusalem will not be in heaven. Then in Matthew 25 we are told that when Jesus comes (to the earth), one of the end goals will be to sit on a throne.
Government, Court Systems, God’s Laws all still exist
The next part I want to unpack is the aspect of His government:
Isaiah 9:6-7 says “…and the government will be upon His shoulder… 7 of this increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever…”
Hab. 2:14 says “The earth will be filled wih the… glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
Isaiah 11:9 says “…for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”
We find from this that Jesus will be in authority over a kingdom and have a system of government in place that will progressively increase. Logically this also means that at some point at the beginning of this government being established it has to be at a level that is less than what it will be after it increases. So there will be growth in areas of government that will be under the perfect leadership of Jesus.
We can also ascertain from this that Jesus will order and establish the kingdom with justice and judgment from the throne of David (referring to seat David once held in Zion/Jerusalem). This also means that there will be a court type system in place to judge right from wrong according to law so that justice can be upheld and judgments can be pronounced and executed.
I believe that the Hab. 2:14 and Isaiah 11:9 are the results throughout the earth of the increasing of this government under the leadership of Jesus.
If you have any thoughts, anything to add that supports this framework or anything I’ve missed (holes in my logic), or even if you disagree feel free to comment.

Oh I love these passages… Stop me if I’m getting ahead…
Isaiah 2:2 “It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains . . . and all the nations shall flow to it . . . For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
So the Bible teaches that there is coming a day when the Lord will rule over the nations from his seat in Zion (where He shines forth). And there will be peace and righteousness. So the old Jerusalem points forward to a glorious future Zion from which God will reign on earth.
Psalm 2:6 - “I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill”

dude… have you ever heard of the Antichrist? false prophets? in the bible???!!! the devil is, and always has been the god (fake, obviously) of this world. by the way, i think the ‘kingdom’ is refering to heaven… which will not be on this earth, nor will it technically be a human denomination, for we will loose our ‘old man nature’ when we go to heaven. i just wanted to say that in the seven seals, which will happen, the antichrist will take over and make it a one world government. the antichrist is someone to be worshiped, thought of, and replaced as jesus… only he is born of the devil’s seed, he just makes himself look good. we have to be careful, deception is all around us (thats the only way the devil can work) and we probably wont know the true jesus christ until were dead. sorry if im getting a little.. not nice, or excited. this kind of things just fascinates me because its stuff that ive been taught all my life, and its intreagueing when i get to see it come to pass. so basically the antichrist being worshiped. anywho, doubt ill change your mind, and i admire you for sticking with what you believe, just keep this in mind a little bit… i suggest studying the number, or more name, 666. see, ive been studying the antichrist. if you find some deapth in there is might say something about god’s kids, in the time of the seven seals, the mark for christ is seperation, the mark for antichrist union, or reunion(as my book says). anyway, sorry again for the long speach and bad spelling. im a bit on the young side
