There is definitely a purpose for physical pain. Physical pain is a protector. Ask any nurse who has worked with elderly diabetic patients, when people lose the ability to feel pain horrible things can happen to them and they may not even be aware of it, for example, that they have stubbed their toe so hard it’s smashed and bleeding. Maybe in the spiritual realm it is similar, I don’t know.
