The Word of Life

Word Of LifeWhy are people willing to renounce all to follow him and even die in his service? How is it that one who died the death of a criminal could be worshiped today by hundreds of millions? How is it plausible that two thousand years after his death his life would be avidly studied and worshipers would address their prayers to him?

“he was the Son of God, the promised Messiah, the one Mediator between God and humanity, who as truly God was truly human, who liberated humanity from the power of sin by his death on the cross.” - Thomas C. Oden

Jesus must be either God and Messiah or nothing at all. The closer you look into the life of Jesus of Nazareth the more the question is begging to be asked.

I’m enjoying a new book I’m reading “Word of Life” by Thomas C. Oden. I love Jesus, and the study of the person Jesus. I took Christology with Allen Hood a while back and this is such a great and needed subject for everyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus.
