Nicole Perkins on the Kingdom Come Conference
Filed under: Blogging, Christianity, Evangelism, Prayer
Nicole Perkins is the Children’s Pastor at Abundant Life Fellowship and is on staff with IHOP Tallahassee. She leads prayer and sings regularly on a worship team in the prayer room and is an incredible woman of the word and of prayer and if she had a blog I would have a subscription and be plugging it to you right now.
I asked Nicole to write her thoughts about the conference and what she thought the highlights were so far. She is officially the first guest writer for Compelled By Reality.
Kingdom Come Conference
Just wanted to say that God has been so faithful to me this week. Just a week ago, I was an emotional mess not knowing if I was doing anything right and then this week has turned out to be more than I could have ever dreamed it could be. Day 3 Overview - The Holy Spirit
Last night Stephanie taught a simple lesson on the Holy Spirit and all the reasons He was sent. And all the things He will do through us, like healing the sick, raising the dead, miracles, signs, and wonders. I really wanted to give the children a chance to receive the baptism in Holy Spirit this week and I wasn’t really sure how to get there. But Stephanie stepped out and asked if anyone already speaks in tongues and I expected there would be some that would raise their hands, and there were a few more than I thought there would be. And then she invited anyone who wanted to receive the gift tonight to come forward and almost everyone in the room was up there either to pray to receive to pray for those wanting to receive. It was a wonderful time in God’s presence as many of them did begin to speak in tongues. Day 4 Overview - Missions
Day 4 was more of the same. Many of the children have a heart to do missions or come from missionary families and so I knew they would enjoy seeing April’s pictures from foreign lands. She tells me she was bit out of her element speaking to children but she did a great job keeping their attention and they had lots of questions. The highlight of the night was when she began to pray and prophesy over them. There were several of the young men especially, that I know were touched by what was prayed over them and I pray that if they got nothing else out of tonight that God would mark the words spoken over them tonight in their spirits and somewhere down the road when they really need it the Holy Spirit will bring those things to their remembrance. We have one more night and I’m looking forward to see what God will do tomorrow.
