Kingdom Come – Day 2
Day 2 was even better than day 1. From the get go those kids were ready to worship. I started out the first song and everyone was singing so excitedly and when we got to the chorus the room just exploded. Those kids started bouncing up and down singing “We worship you! Hallelujah!” They were dancing all over the place… it was great.
After worship there was a game that was really fun to watch, but ended up being rather dangerous after kids started to tackle each other, poke eyes, and dog pile on the chairs.
Then I spoke on prayer and was surprised at the attentiveness that the kids kept throughout my long-winded discourse. I was amazed at the intelligence level these kids had. I asked a question thinking no one or maybe 1 person would know the answer to and everyone raises their hand. And the things that they think of when trying to find the answer is just awe-inspiring.
One thing that really stuck with me is that when I was explaining “Intercession” and they realized what it was, they were excited about that type of prayer where it is the unselfish prayer that you get to step in and intervene on someone else’s behalf. They really got excited about that. Sometimes I forget how exciting and remarkable it really is that I get to intercede for others. And knowing that Jesus is now currently rooting for us and praying for our walk with Him and keeps on even when I mess up. How great is our God!

Awesome Adam!! Do you guys have any advice for trying to encourage “older people” Christianity for teens and younger? Specifically for my younger sister and cousins. She’s 14 and they’re her age or younger and I don’t think they ever see or hear about kids going after God. What can I do?

We’re still learning, so we don’t have all the answers. But here are some ideas to get you started. Some (or all) may seem pretty obvious, but don’t underestimate the basics.
1. Pray for them. Pray, Pray, Pray. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard stories of people being saved talking about their praying mom, or their praying grandma. Prayer works.
2. Get them around other Christians who are going hard after God. If they are in town take them to a House of Prayer, if not see if there is a house of prayer or prayer group in their city. If it can’t be a weekly thing, find a youth conference or fiery event or a youth camp/internship or something for them to go to in order to fan that flame.
3. Encourage them to pray, fast, and read the Bible.

Cool, thanks Adam. I need reminders for the basic stuff.
