Favorite Google Apps
Everyone knows what google is. But did you know that google has more than just “Search?” Google has many searchable options as well as downloadable software applications. Here are a few of my favorites in order:
- Search (by far)
- Calendar (I use this to manage my daily schedule and then import it into iCal.
- Maps (always useful, the best maps on the internet)
- GMail (I use this, but forward it to my inbox)
- YouTube
- Google Earth (Combines google search with satellite imagery, maps, terrain, and 3D buildings.)
- Google News (Compiles news from thousands of sources, even from personalized searches – I used to use this constantly, but then it started to eat up too much of my time.)
What are your favorites?

Wow… it’s official… you’re a nerd!
Not that it’s a news flash or anything!
(Just for the record, I use the word “nerd” as a term of affection!)

Obviously, I use gmail as my main email address. The search engine has no other “real” competition in my opinion. YouTube is great… I forgot that it is now owned by google. An interesting tool I appreciate them having is a language translator. Try translating your blog into German or Portuguese!! Its really funny that because of stylesheets the translated pages look like they were designed that way.
