Why Do You Cast Words?

Why do you cast words? What is your purpose for blogging? I cast my words here for all to see for a few reasons.

  1. I write because I love to write. It’s fun. I love articulating my thoughts into words and not just keeping them inside. Yes, I journal and most of my thoughts stay on the page and do not make it onto here. I also like the fact that in wordcasting some of my thoughts and opinions I have to form them in such a way that they make sense not only to me, but to others as well.
  2. I am a person that wants to see other people win! I don’t want to just run this race by myself and only be worried about beating everyone else, but I want to run this race as well as I can and help other people along the way. So I write with the hope that something I share would encourage others in their walk and spur them on. Anything I can share with someone that might help them in their walk I want to share it. I want to run this race not as a sole individual but run as a team with a team of people who are just as concerned with me winning as I am with them winning.
  3. And last, I am compelled by the reality that I do not know God like I thought I did, and compelled by the reality that Jesus is coming back and I want to be ready for when He does come. I really want to be able to learn from other people who have more insight than I do as well as learn to articulate myself better to others through communication and discussion.

If/when I get a blog, I would want its purpose to be spiritually edifying and challenging to those that read it as well as to me and my walk with God.

Most of my posts fit into one of 2 categories: either light-hearted, funny, random stuff or more reflective, serious stuff about something I’m struggling with or some new revelation I’ve gotten. I think the main reason I do it is that I’m trying to become better at writing and communicating my thoughts, and writing a blog is the easiest, most efficient way I can think of to do that.

I don’t cast words. I log the web.

The ‘if’ has become a ‘when.’
